Harbor Walk FAQs
What is Harbor Walk?
Harbor Walk is a commercial and retail center that is a part of the Aquarium Wharf area of downtown Charleston. The College has leased 45,000 square feet of space at Harbor Walk to support the classrooms, labs, and offices displaced during the renovation of major academic buildings on campus such as the Rita Hollings Science Center and the Simons Center for the Arts. Harbor Walk will also serve as home to the Department of Computer Science.
Harbor Walk West is comprised of the old IMAX/Hippodrome building. It houses Biology and Physics & Astronomy classrooms, labs, and faculty offices. The building closest to the Cooper River is Harbor Walk East, which houses the Department of Computer Science and a Biology instructional lab.
Where is Harbor Walk?
Harbor Walk is located at 360 Concord Street. The building is adjacent to the SC Aquarium and is located along the Cooper River. Located less than one mile from the College’s main campus, it is within walking and biking distance.
What are travel options between Harbor Walk and the College’s downtown campus?
CARTA DASH Trolley
In addition to walking, CARTA DASH, a free shuttle service that runs from the Aquarium to campus, is also available. The 210 line (yellow) picks up and drops off at the corner of St. Philip and Calhoun, and also at the corner of Wentworth and Coming. The stops are indicated by the numbers 3 and 4 on the map below. Shuttle times can be found on the CARTA website at www.ridecarta.com.
Bike racks are available on site, and the College is currently exploring opportunities to expand the bike share program. While biking to and from Harbor Walk, keep in mind the city ordinances and laws.

Aquarium Garage Parking Permit
Aquarium Garage parking permits are available through Parking Services. The AG parking permit costs $300 per semester for students and $225 for employees and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Summer permits are also available. Garage permits allow vehicles to park on the fourth floor of the garage or higher only.

The Charleston Aquarium Garage is conveniently located at 24 Calhoun Street, just steps away from Harbor Walk. The garage operates from 8:00 to 12:00 a.m. daily. Rates are as follows:
Each 30 minutes: $1.00
Daily maximum: $16.00
Event: $2.00 - $5.00
How long will Harbor Walk be used?
The College has leased Harbor Walk for seven years with the option to renew for an additional seven years.
What amenities are available at Harbor Walk?
WiFi is available at Harbor Walk. Faculty, staff, and students are able to connect to the campus network, as if they were on the downtown campus.
A P.O.D. Market is on site. The P.O.D. features a variety of on-the-go snacks, beverages, and prepared meals ranging from salads and wraps to crackers and candy. The Education Center houses one of these units as well.
Additionally, two chargin stations are on site for students to charge their gadgets.
Will there be security on site?
Yes, security is on site 24/7.
